Convex mirror also known as divergent mirror where the reflecting surface bulges out towards the source of light. Regardless of the object’s position, the convex mirror always produces virtual and erect representations. It does not focus light on this bulging surface but reflects it in all directions. As the mirror’s focal point (F) and center of curvature (2F) are fictitious positions that can never be reached, these mirrors create virtual imagery. Because the picture is formed inside the mirror, it cannot be projected onto a screen. The image seems smaller at a distance than the item; nevertheless, as the object approaches the mirror, the picture expands.
