Dry chemical extinguishers extinguish the fire by interrupting the chemical reaction of the fire triangle. Dry Chemical Powder (ABC Class) are mono ammonium phosphate-based powders that are generally for multipurpose use on Class A, B and C fires. Specialist powder extinguishers are designed to tackle type D fires involving combustible metals such as lithium, magnesium, or aluminium.
